Thailand Visa Information

A foreign national who wishes to enter Kingdom of Thailand is required to obtain Thai visa from Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate. However, passport holders of certain countries do not require Thai Visa prior to their travel to Thailand and such countries are as follows: 

A foreign national who wishes to enter Kingdom of Thailand should obtain Thai Visa from Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate. However, certain countries don’t require to obtain Thai Visa prior to their visit as passport holders shown as below are eligible for 30 days Exempt Visa Stamp

Foreigners of certain countries are required to apply for Thai Visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate in their country of Residence. It is highly advised you contact Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate prior to your visit.

Generally, applicant are required to apply for Thai Visa in person. However, Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate in some countries and in some visa types may also accept applications sent through representatives, authorized travel agency or by post. Please enquire with your nearest Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate prior to your submission of application.

It is very important to know that the period of visa validity is different from the period of stay (permission to stay). Visa validity is the period a foreigner must enter Thailand before to utilize Thai Visa. The period of stay (permission to stay) is granted by an Immigration officer upon arrival at the port of entry and in accordance with the type of Visa.

Foreigners entering Thailand are not permitted to work, regardless of their visa type, unless you are granted a work permit then only you can work. If you wish to work in Thailand, you must hold correct type of visa to apply for Thai Work Permit.
